How the calculation works

1. Raw person-days

days = weeks × days_per_week × (utilisation% / 100)

= 12 × 3.5 × ... = 42.0 person-days per person

2. Weighted capacity per role

weighted = (nF × wF) + (nM × wM) + (nS × wS)

Productivity weights: Fresher=0.5, Mid=1, Senior=1.4

3. Coordination penalty (Brooks' Law)

intra = 1 − min(links_per_squad × 0.008, 0.30)
inter = 1 − min(squad_pairs × 0.006, 0.18)
coordination = intra × inter

4. Effective capacity

capacity = weighted × coordination × days

5. Cost

cost = (nF × rateF + nM × rateM + nS × rateS) × total_hours
